Finally, word from Sony in regards to their foray into the DSLR realm with KM mount.

I just wonder how many lenses are going to be available to choose from, compared to what we enjoy with
Canon or Nikon....

very interesting. KM has some nice lenses, although I'm not sure who will produce lenses for this mount in the future. Sony definitely has the R&D funds. I wonder if they will go all out, or do like pentax/samsung and just rebrand for now. Either way I'm sure most of their user base will be the "prosumer" crowd.

It looks like Sony and Zeiss are departing company. Zeiss for whatever reason, eschews making lenses
that have IS capability. And now Zeiss is making lenses for Nikon....

Wonder if there's any credence to this, or if I'm just talking out my *ss:lol:

Cory - congratulation on your new toy. It's good to have some company on this site - there are way too many canikonians here - problem is they're pretty good photographers too, so I can't say too much . I look forward to some of your work. Don't be too hard on the "kit" lenses, they're not that bad. There are a few Sony/Minolta photography-related web sites/forums that are well worth seeing. Before you race off and buy all that extra glass and goodies, do your homework.

In case anyone's interested, dpreviews have just released their verdict:

Mods - am I allowed to mention other forums on this site?

Cheers, Frank
