Alright, i've been part of this forum forever and have never posted anything. I work in a fish store in El Segundo, CA (Jim's Exotic Fish, anyone know it?), and the following pictures are from the aquarium there that is "mine". ^0 gallon reef, all photos are just "snapshots" so no fancy lighting or backgrounds, just quick shots without flash. Enjoy :)

The first two shots are the best, though
and first time I see that amazing yellow/purple sea squirt…:-P
may be if you should use a tripod for shooting, the focusing will be much better…

Lioness, Good to see you start posting. Great series. Agree on Tripod suggestion or flash. It is also not stated what camera you use, so that may help. It's in your profile.

Re: Jim's, never been, is it worth the trip for a freshwater guy? Anything interesting besides bread n' butter stuff? I am more into harder to find stuff, cichlids, plants....

yeah, i know i need a tripod, but i was actually working and just stole a minute to snap some shots...

as far as the store goes, the majority of our fish are freshwater, and we have a great selection of cichlids and plants. Jim knows a TON about cichlids, and we have a 600 gallon cichlid display tank. Most fish stores in the area refer their customers to us if they're looking for cichlids...
Plantwise we may not always HAVE the coolest stuff, though lately we've had a lot more interesting things in, but we can also usually GET whatever you are looking for. Same with the fish.
I'd definitely say the store is worth the trip, and i know many of our customers would agree. We have clients who come for Santa Clarita, the Valley, Long Beach, and many other places. :)

The camera i used was just a canon PowerShot S80.
