Here's some pictures of my rainforest tank (taken with Canon Powershot A80). The raindrops and air bubbles on the leaves look somewhat similar, both making the plants look even more fresh and beautiful. :)

Since our APF restored website database and lost some posts (posted within 24~48hrs) to prevent damage from hacker, so I'll do a sum of the lost replies.
1. very interesting rain forest styled tank setup (as well as your other interesting planted tank setup mentioned by other members, and I would love to see some photos of those)
2. nice photos from a P&S camera. The air bubbles with sparkles behind create good image depth, and the snail shot is nice (a bit more off-centered would be my preference).

Thanks for sharing, and would love to see more of your tanks (full view or close up, whatever).

Yeah, Satu, post some more. I spent an hour looking through that whole thread on PTank. What a change over time.

Thank you all for your kind words. :)

I just mutilated my tank and cut out a lot of HC so it will take a couple of weeks for it to fill back again, but I'll have to check if there's some old photos that I feel are worth showing in here too (I have shown most of them in TPT though). =)

I can't wait to get a macro lens and a DSLR of my own. I just wish that you guys would live closer so I could ask you to visit and take pictures of my tank with your equipment. :-D

Oh my, oh my, I have a new toy! I don't know what's it really called, it's a tube with magnifying lens in the end of it and you just stick it on top of the A80 lens when the camera is on. 16 diopters. I am having so much fun with it. Here's some pictures I took today.

A bubble (I bet this is one of the most common macro photo subjects) on Hemianthus callitrichoides, not cropped, just resized (here's a cropped original size one (http://sademetsa.net/macrobubble_large.jpg)):

Baby CRS and a 1 millimetre sized seed shrimp on Hemianthus callitrichoides:

Same baby CRS, taken with bad, bad flash.

MTS, resized, not cropped:

And young Cyclops:

This is so much fun!

Hey Satu, from these photos, agree your new toy is great. It brings tiny subjects really close, especially the last shot of the young Cyclops (though it's still a bit soft) I like the 2nd shot the best. And, there are noise on darker area of the shots, I'm not sure the noise is due to the high ISO, or due to pre-posting process.

I think I'll have to try to make them look better tomorrow and start from the originals and see where I managed to get the noise in the pictures, there's some noise in the originals, but not as much as in these edited ones. Mostly I needed to get rid of a green haze from the pictures and maybe I've done something really stupid while doing that.

The diopter really allowed you to get really close to the subjects. Some nice shots for the amount of magnification you're getting there.

As for the noise, it's not too bad, but then I also shoot Nikon and haven't process noise for awhile now. If anything, take a look at the original. Perhaps they were slightly underexposed in the beginning and when you corrected for it, there's shadow noise introduced. Also, sharpening will introduce them.

I've been playing with the camera for the whole day and haven't had time to redo the old ones. I think I have a tendency to underexposure my pictures because I like them dark. I need to learn out of it, since I can always darken them with photoshop, but it looks like brightening isn't as easy. :)
