Adobe has purchased the "technology assets" of Pixmantec...guess 2006 will be the last "free" essentials...

Wow, that is big news. Maybe PS 10 will have a good RAW processor :) Funny, we've been recommending Rawshooter for years :)

LOL, ACR already is as good (or better) than Raw Shooters....the workflow just sucks, they are just getting rid of competition for their "LightRoom". I imagine they have talked to C1 as well, but they won't pay the price. Adobe is starting to be just like microsoft.

I'll say this for ACR, as a diehard C1 Pro user...I shot a wedding a week ago and the lighting was just terrible, I shot the majority of the shots in RAW and I was able to eek out better detail and get better results with ACR than C1. Makes me want to give their "LightRoom" product a look, if they will just produce a windows beta....

I dont know, I have used ACR on several occasions, and it can not do anything as well as C1 pro. I think that is an amazing program. Though for the price, RAWshooter is good enough for almost anyone.

If you took the time to learn ACR as you did to learn C1...you wouldn't say that. In most cases they are equal, in some cases C1 smokes ACR and in some cases ACR smokes C1. It's kinda like lenses, there isn't one that does it ALL the BEST ;)

Oh, and to be clear, I'm talking about ACR 3, that comes bundled in CS2...ACR2 wasn't nearly as good.

I hope that they take something from the workflow of this and integrate it. Adobe Bridge runs like molasses on my computer (although not as slow as Nikon Capture).
