Good read. :)

It is at times like these when you kind of have to step back and ask yourself are you really qualify to critique an image/moment captured? Even then, each person has a different perspective and one should be mindful of it.

So, if I'm going off, disregard what I have to say; most of the time I don't know what I'm doing myself.

Eric, I wasn't pointing a finger at this forum:-) Your advise, along with Ed's, Bobby's, etc, has proven
invaluable! But I've seen some forums that are not nearly as kind as this one...makes you appreciate
what we have here, all the more.;)

Spot on! And I'm not at all worried that I agreed with every word of the criticism of Eggleston's work - I still think it sucks.

ROFL, Alan, it's exactly what I thought, I was trying to find what qualified it to be in the same group as the rest. It really is JUST A SNAPSHOT :) Great read, specially the comments below.

Wow, that is really good...and for some reason, I am going to have to agree on the Eggleston shot...just not into it.
However, the Penn stuff...I think my dad had a print on the wall for the longest time. And he is from NJ, born not to far from where I currently live, and lives in New York somewhere now.

To each his/her own...

Professional Photographer - Gets paid to take photos

Artist is what I would rather be for now...sure the odd wedding or something is good for some dough...but not nearly as enjoyable when it isn't "work".
