My b/f and I spent the day at a Rhode Island beach yesterday for my grandparents' 60th anniversary party. My family rented out an entire hotel right on the beach for the weekend. It was awesome! I wish I had more time to take sunset shots but I couldn't leave the party for very long.

Mel, great photos. This is a matter of taste, but I feel the wide white border makes the edges not have that "strength". Have you tried one of these with a black border? I think they may look more "moody" with that. Or, maybe a thin black border before the shadow. I know Jay used to do that to his white border shots, so that the photos dont melt with the borders.

Hi Mel

Beautiful looking sunset. I prefer the horizontal to the vertical cropas it has a better feeling of space. I think Ed might be right about the black border too, which would be worth a try.

Cheers

Rich :)

I don't care about the border: the first is just beautiful. I love the textures of the water and the beach, as well as the colours. Get some big prints made and framed for Christmas presents :)
