Hi

Thought I would put togther a compilation of some recent shots of the feathered friends....but the flash batteries are on charge for some fish shots next week :) Sorry in advance for the numerous shots but it has been a productive few weeks.

Firstly some shots from Martin Mere, starting of with a new species for me, the Ruff

One of my favourite ducks the Pintail

Thought I would have a go at some flight shots for a change, a Shelduck coming at me...

The white blobs behind the Shelduck is a bird that Martin Mere is well known for Whooper Swans fresh in from Iceland

There is a lot of them which makes choosing one of these noisey swans to shoot a difficult choice ...lol

and to finish at Martin Mere a calm mallard amongst a duck frenzy

Moving up along the North Wales coast to a small nature reserve called the 'Spinnies.' where a relative newcomer to the UK, the Little Egret, are quite plentiful

of course had to keep up the practice with the flight shots :)

and to finish off a bird I have been trying to find to photograph for a while, the Kingfisher. Unfortunately the bird would choose a place to perch where the background to the shot is never going to be great and the lighting not great.

Mbuna tank update on its way...promise :)

Cheers

Really nice Rich. You are the "man" with the bird shots.

I like the mallard shot for some reason. I think the Kingfisher looks good, nothing else but him to look at. :)

Thay are all lovely photos. I think the egret in front of the dead reeds pleases me the most - it reminds me of an oriental pen and ink drawing.
