Hi

Just some recent shots of some local sea birds.

A shag in some stormy conditions. A back lit black bird on a some rough water makes for some difficult shooting.

With flocks of birds like this on the beach its not difficult finding subjects, although this is about a quarter of the number that were there which was a mix of Godwits and Knot.

I am still working on a plan to get close in on the Godwits.

A bird thats a bit easier to get close to when roosting at high tide is the Dunlin

and to finish off one of my favourites at the moment the Sanderling

Doing the usual frantic running around.

Lovely! The pattern of the feathers on the last shot is wonderful. I know I always say that sanderlings are my favourites - I hope everyone can see part of the reason why.

Thanks Kross and Alan. They are a great little bird, the Sanderling and some real fun to photograph. If given a choice though I still find myself drawn more towards curlews.

Cheers
