I think you've chosen your subjects very well - this is a nice set of black and white shots.
If I may make a constructive criticism, as someone who used to spend many hours printing b&w in darkrooms, I feel that you have rather too much contrast here - if you lighten your mid-grey point slightly (you can use Levels in Photoshop) you may see more detail in the mid-tones.

Thanks Alan for your criticism.
Maybe I should see those pictures printed, so I can realise it.
I push the contraste maybe a little bit to much, darkening the mid-tones, for puting the clear tones in value... I will try to control myself a little more in the future...

The nice thing about digital work is that you don't have to wash your hands, turn the light off, take another sheet of photo paper and go through the whole business of exposing, developing, stopping, fixing and washing - before deciding that it's still not right.

Yes and a computer is easier to buy than a dark room:-D
I've also sometime worked (during photography courses) in dark room and can imagine what kind of work is behind a photography. Actually I'm using my computer as a dark room, playing on expositions, contrasts, noise... and in my own bedroom!

Stephane, that is great work. Nature is beautiful in Scandinavia. One day I will take a European vacation, and that area is something I want to visit.
I really like the shots. I see what Alan is saying, but I am a big fan of high-contrast B/W photography, with grain and everything, and I think you did a great job with these. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, this style has only recently began to be very popular, (and Alan is so 20th century :) ) , so I understand why not everyone gets it.
You have a great eye for framing shots. The eye follows well. The shot that really shows it off is the one with footprints. My favorite shot though is the last tree shot. Love the grain.
The first building shot is good too, but I would try to fix the vertical lines, the building planks are a bit at an angle.

Alan is so 20th century :)
Oh, Ed! You say the sweetest things!
But I don't think it's true: for b&w shots of natural subjects I am more 19th century
I'm still visually absorbing the platinotypes of P H Emerson, which I saw earlier in the year - the contrast is so gentle that the tonal range is amazing. Which is not to say that high contrast work doesn't have a place, I have used lith film for dramatising dramatic productions (if you see what I mean). The English idiom is to say horses for courses.

All great love the feeling of them , my favorite is the second picture of the tree if only the sky was constant the line of clouds really upsets the linear feel of the horizen.. Picture of the foot prints is a classic wish i had taken it.
