Hello Everyone!

This thread should get the opinions really flowing. I am looking for a new Digital Camera mostly for taking aquatic pictures and I am new to the digital world. I have pretty well narrowed my decision to the following 5 cameras and I was wanting opinions from the EXPERTS here at APF.

I was wanting to know which of the following 5 cameras you folks feel is the very best in this range of digital cameras and why?

1) Canon EOS 300D/Digital Rebel/Digital KISS - 6.3 Megapixel

2) Sony Cyber Shot DSCF828 - 8 Megapixel

3) Sigma SD-9 - 10.2 Megapixel

4) Minolta Dimage A2 - 8 Megapixel

5) Nikon Coolpix 8700 - 8 Megapixel

6) OTHER - If you feel there is a better choice in this range of digital cameras please let me know which one and why?

I would appreciate everyone's honest opinion/advice with these choices as I will probably make my decision from this advice.

Thanks to you ALL very much for your help,
Bryant

Honestly, this is one mission impossible for me. I have no chance to experience others. I have Sony DSC-F707, and Canon 300D. I have used F707 for more than 2 yrs, and quite get use to it. And, I got 300D some months ago. It's hard to comparing between. Anyway, I found F707 is more handy (for aquatic photography) than the 300D, coz the F707 can keep tracking the subject on the LCD monitor, while 300D (the DSLR type) can only view through the viewfinder. But, the 300D has more options of all kind of lens. This is so far I can think of, and I still use both camera on aquatic photography, and use 300D more for the non-aquatic shots.

I am going to say the Canon PowerShot Pro 1... It is a very nice cam, i have used it, and if I could afford it, There would be one in my hands right now... I am personally a Minolta Guy, I have always liked them... I'm getting the Minolta Dimage 7Hi fairly soon, and will be posting pics!

take note that the SD9 doesn't give you a file output of your standard 10 megapixel camera .

more like 3 megapixel size.
