Hi Dennis,
I think you have a nice idea, but holding the cam steady at 1/30, you have
to be Iron Man! Yeah, soft focus. I think I would have gotten up closer to
the old tractor seat, maybe do some bokeh shots at different POVs. For a
shot at this POV, it looks like you would need to stop down more than f3.5
to bring everything into the picture. Was this shot towards dusk or early
morning? Try it with more natural light sometime.

Thanks Bill. It was almost dark and this was one of the few shots I got that evening that I liked anything about. I do see the softness now though. I think I need to focus more on a single subject when I go out to shot rather than just taking tons of shots. I need to think through what I am doing more. 'Course, I don't really know what I'm doing so...
Thanks for the input. I'll try that again another evening with better light.

I have gone back and looked at the shot several times. I assume the tractor seat was to be the subject, but it does not catch my attention. Maybe a different crop would help. Probably would have been better to have the seat more to the center of the shot (vertically). Thats how I see it anyway.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Michael. Truth be told, the seat was not supposed to be the focus. Rather, in an artsy-fartsy way my intention was to use the seat to draw focus away from "nature" itself. It was not my intention to have it the focus but maybe may idea was not all that good;)

To my eyes, I think the shadowed part of the bush behind the seat draws the most attention. I would love to see more of the equipment.

Thanks Dracofish. I really want to take more photos of things like that (it will be easysince I work on a farm) but lately my schedule and the weather are not co-operating.
Like the quote in your sig also.
